Five hurt at Three Counties Showground as marquees blows over...
Phil Atkinson, Managing Director for A.C.T (National) Ltd said:
"This case demonstrates the importance of being in control of temporary structures on event sites, or elsewhere for that matter. Always make sure you know the wind tolerance of the structure and have clear contingency plans in place for adverse weather conditions. You should also get a written confirmation from a competent person that the structure has been constructed in accordance with the design specification and is safe to use before you take control of it. In short don't take the safety of marquees and other structures for granted".
