Reference Package 1

Package 1 consists of taking out employment references covering the candidate's employment history covering the last 2 years of employment as well as checking the electoral roll to verify residential history, carrying out a credit check, and identity verification.

The employment references will request information relating to employment dates, position, job performance, productivity, attitude, skills, attendance, eligibility for rehire and reasons for termination. It may also confirm the factual information provided on their CV/Application Form. 

The credit check will search public records for details in relation to County Court Judgements, Bankruptcies, Voluntary Arrangements, Decrees and Sequestration Orders which are registered against a candidate and covers a six year period.

This provides an indication to how individuals manage their own finances and can be useful, for example, to confirm that the applicant can be entrusted with corporate credit cards.

The identity verification will check the candidate's identity to ensure that the candidate is who he or she claims to be.  This requires the individual to provide details such as a passport photocopy or UK driving licence number, birth certificate or HMRC documentation.
