Reference Package 3

Package 3 consists of taking out employment references covering the candidate's last 10 years of employment as well as checking the electoral roll to verify residential history, carrying out a credit check, identity verification, and a UK Directorship Search.

The credit check will search public records for details in relation to County Court Judgements, Bankruptcies, Voluntary Arrangements, Decrees and Sequestration Orders which are registered against a candidate and covers a six year period.

This provides an indication to how individuals manage their own finances and can be useful, for example, to confirm that the applicant can be entrusted with corporate credit cards.

The identity verification will check the candidate's identity to ensure that the candidate is who he or she claims to be.  This requires the individual to provide details such as a passport photocopy or UK driving licence number, birth certificate or HMRC documentation.

The UK Directorship search will determine any current or previously held UK Directorships, details of disqualified Directorships and company secretarial positions.

It can be used to highlight any current or potential conflicts of interest between the candidate and the hiring company.
